THE RENOVATION

February 2021. Goldsmith UCL.

It’s done now, I’m not blaming you, I was there too.  I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have brought that up. It’s ok, it’s all ok, let's have a shower, make it better…

Squinty eyeballs, exhale, vapour responds to our command and scurries out of the way in golden ratios.

Rainbow steam hides whilst our fingers seek.

Water droplets forming frosted glass, it's all softer I need to be more gentle.

Brown soap studied feelings coil down the drain.

Shake...

Shake...

Shake...

Fresh...

Ready ... Readier

The Renovation is a looped narrative-driven installation piece, using the mediums of audio, structural form, light and movement to communicate my perspective of my body being my home.

In this performance, I embody my soul, which interacts with the black structure, symbolic of my mind, to try and pull down the recurrent thoughts of depression, low self-esteem, and broken relationships to enable healing and optimism to shine through.
